Tatsumeeko is a groundbreaking gaming IP, developed by Tatsu Works, that merges casual, adventure, and MMO gameplay with social elements and MMORPG mechanics, including automatic PvP and PvE combat.
This game actively uses Discord’s robust social features, building directly upon the Tatsu Discord bot, already integrated into over 1.4 million servers, to connect with a massive user base.
I would liken it to a Trojan Horse, but instead of hiding threats, it’s filled with an immersive universe ready to infiltrate our Discords with joy, turning our digital hangouts into playgrounds of endless adventure. This is Tatsumeeko, a gateway to fun, creativity, and community like never before.
Among the notable Discord communities employing Tatsu are those associated with PewDiePie, Davie504, Moistcr1tikal, Mobile Legends, Team Liquid, and fan clubs for celebrities like Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and the Hololive Fan Server.
Unlike the anime IPs highlighted in this series, Tatsumeeko doesn’t come with an accompanying anime series or manga. Yet, its visual style deeply resonates with anime aesthetics, and the technology behind it merits attention.
This art style brilliantly fuses 2D anime art with pixel art techniques, set against a pseudo-3D environment reminiscent of the turn-based, isometric tactical RPGs of the ’90s, like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre. This unique blend creates a nostalgic yet distinct aesthetic with a visual flair that’s both retro and timeless
Tatsu Works is composed of 40+ industry veterans from studios like Square Enix, Gumi, Koei Tecmo, and Tencent. The game’s UI and font choices appear to be significantly influenced by Square Enix’s design ethos, reflecting a deep appreciation for their aesthetics.
The team has openly shared their enthusiasm for MMORPGs, notably FFXIV, and creator-driven platforms like Minecraft, which is evident in both the artistic direction of Tatsumeeko and the innovative tools they’re crafting. These tools are poised to advance user-generated content (UGC) in new and exciting ways, as highlighted in one of their blog posts.
It is our goal to build up a robust toolset to enable creators to build new experiences, events, items, automations and more for communities in the Tatsumeeko metaverse. These tools will first be used internally by our team to create the RPG content that players see on a regular basis.
Tatsumeeko seeks to deliver a holistic, immersive, and accessible gaming experience through its web3 idle strategy RPG metaverse ALL within the comfort of your discord server.
This game emphasizes:
As mentioned before, this innovative gaming universe is seamlessly integrated within Tatsu, an already thriving Discord bot known for its community engagement tools, thereby leveraging an existing user base to enhance the Tatsumeeko experience.
Like any other RPG, there is a main story and some side quests, characters and NPCs that bring the world alive.
Tatsumeeko has in-game activities that are divided into three main categories:
Many mobile games (often called “mobage”) let you form a team with characters that you can’t really change or make your own. This doesn’t work well for a metaverse, where people want to feel like they’re part of the world with their own unique identity.
So, in Tatsumeeko, they came up with a solution:
The team decided to go with an automated turn based system which would optimize the game for discord and mobile. you’ll encounter various enemies and groups, each with unique blends of elements, offensive and defensive capabilities, and special abilities that can change how battles play out. To win, you’ll need to smartly assemble your team, adapting your strategy based on the specific mix of foes you’re up against. Each region challenges you with a variety of encounters, from everyday monsters to epic bosses, where you can earn valuable items and NFTs.
In an ingenious pivot, Tatsu Works took to Telegram in the third quarter of 2024 to unveil “Lumina Hunt”, a Tatsumeeko mini-game that has captured the hearts (and thumbs) of its community. Here, players embark on enchanting quests to capture mystical Lumins, blending fun with strategy. Start playing Lumina hunt now, click here.
With the completion of Phase 2, “Lumina Hunt” has not only kept the community engaged but has also showcased Tatsu Works’ unparalleled dedication and flair for innovation. This mini-game serves as a delightful appetizer, keeping fans eagerly anticipating the main course – the flagship product that promises even more depth and engagement.
Let’s examine the Tatsu bot more closely to fully understand the revolutionary approach Tatsumeeko takes in game development. This bot isn’t merely a tool; it’s the foundational platform from which Tatsumeeko emerges. Think of Tatsu as the underlying framework or ‘base version’ of Tatsumeeko.
I delved deep into researching this bot and even created a Discord server to try it out firsthand. The bot thoroughly entertained and impressed me, so much so that I’m now planning to establish a Discord community for this blog, employing Tatsu as our main bot. Here’s what I found.
Ad: In case you’re curious you can try out the tatsu bot for free in my discord server – animechainhub. I’ve set up cool player progression system using tatsu. See you there.
The Tatsu.gg bot, commonly known as Tatsu, is a versatile Discord bot that focuses on enhancing community engagement, offering a rich suite of features that combine social interaction, gaming, and economy systems within Discord servers. Here’s an overview of its features:
Here I am in my chibi anime girl form, chilling in my cozy little room with Mr. Poopypants, my Border Collie (he poops a lot, thus the name).
Transforming and personalizing this space has been a source of profound peace and rejuvenation for me. It’s an experience I highly recommend!
Tatsumeeko’s NFT collection primarily revolves around the “Meekolony Pass” NFTs, which are central to the Tatsumeeko gaming ecosystem.
Supply: 10,000
Barrier to entry: 1.021 SOL (around $248 at the time of writing)
Unique owners: 19.01%
Tatsu isn’t just a bot; it’s a comprehensive gaming and community management tool within Discord, offering a blend of social interaction, competitive elements, and personal progression that can significantly enhance the experience of any Discord server it’s added to.
I was genuinely surprised by how intuitive the learning process was. Setting up was straightforward; I managed everything within a single Discord channel, which proved to be incredibly convenient and user-friendly. Initially, the array of commands seemed daunting, but once I mastered them, navigating and utilizing the system became a seamless and enjoyable experience.
On top of that, the tatsu community already made a wiki page to answer any questions we may have and list down pertinent bot commands.
I have no doubt in my mind that Tatsumeeko will be a successful game once it is launched. It offers an experience unlike any other all within the comforts of discord. It’s convenient, it’s fun, and incredibly social. These are the components of a true lifesim RPG.
